Newsletter Article Tips

Often Asked Questions About Writing Articles/Ads:

The Deadline

The deadline for all articles/ads is usually the 21st of every month and will be announced via email each month.  If you need more time, send the Editor what you have so far or  just let her know you need more time and she can build in an extra cushion of time to complete the newsletter.

Format and Writing Suggestions

1. I prefer (but don’t require) that articles be sent to me via email in a Microsoft Word document.  Email: eipalumbo@comcast.net.

2. The body text of all articles in our newsletter is always formatted to 10-point, Lucinda Bright font.  It would be helpful if articles were sent to me in that format as well.

3. I always appreciate when articles are written in full sentences with all necessary details included since my job is only to edit and review for inconsistencies.

4. Traditionally, we have always put a Junior’s name and any upcoming event dates in bold letters.

5. Avoid overuse of underlining, bold and all caps when trying to emphasize as it can sometimes detract from and diminish the more important information that you are trying to communicate.

6. While I love your enthusiasm, please use only one exclamation point!
