Communicating Juniors’ News

With new technologies available, Juniors will have a variety of venues to use for communicating events, fundraisers and other news to fellow members as well as the public. In light of this, we thought it would be helpful to outline the types of communication vehicles we will be using and how to proceed.

LVJWC Website. Contact person/Administrator: Beth Holt, lizabethholt@aol.com

The website (lvjuniors.org) will be the primary location for all news and events for both members and the public and should be your first step in communicating your news. All events, dates, newsletters and other important information related to Juniors is stored on our website. Contact Beth whenever you want to update the site.

LVJWC Monthly Newsletter. Contact person/Editor: Liz Palumbo, eipalumbo@comcast.net

Like the website, our monthly newsletter is another primary means of communicating news. However, the newseltter is only available to members/prospectives, not the public. Liz Palumbo will send a mass email to all members/prospectives each month announcing the deadline for articles. Members are responsible for writing the articles and emailing to Liz, who will edit as needed. Newsletters are usually finalized no later than the first of the every month (except for July and August) and articles are due on or about the 23rd of each month.

Monthly K-8 Board of Ed Newsletter. Junior’s contact person: Mindy DiGabriele, mdigabriele@comcast.net

The K-8 Board of Ed collects short “articles” from many community organizations, including LVJWC, each month and distributes a monthly newsletter to the public. Mindy DiGabriele will be responsible for getting Juniors news to Marie each month. Juniors will use this venue for communicating events online to the public and Mindy will send .

Friday Folders by the (K-8) Board of Ed. Junior’s contact person: Mindy DiGabriele, mdigabriele@comcast.net

Like the BOE monthly newsletter, the Friday Folders communicate events to the public. Juniors’ information for Friday Folders should be sent to Mindy DiGabriele will need provide short “articles” to the Board of Ed no later than each Wednesday. Mindy will work with Beth Holt, who will update (if needed) information on the website in order to provide a link to the website in the Friday Folder article.

Newspapers/Long Valley Patch. Junior’s contact person: Mindy DiGabriele, mdigabriele@comcast.net

Juniors should contact Mindy DiGabriele who will provide the local newspapers and the Long Valley Patch (online news) with information regarding Juniors’ events. Contact Mindy at your earliest convenience with all information.

Facebook. Junior’s contact person: Kristen Powers, kaepa2000@gmail.com

If you are on Facebook and have not already “liked” the Junior’s page (Long Valley Junior Women’s Club), please do so and encourage all Juniors and non-juniors to do so as well. Kristen Powers will update the page for all new events, including invitations for events. Contact Kristen if you would like to include an event or other information on our Facebook page.
